Instalé Forticlient 4.1.1.132 en un Windows XP Pro SP3.
Cuando el Forticlient está ejecutando (aunque no tenga ninguna conexión VPN activa) no tengo acceso a internet con el Internet Explorer ni con el Firefox.
Sí tengo acceso al correo (Outlook) y al MSN, incluso si hago un ping a [Debes identificarte para poder ver enlaces.] me da correcto.
Obviamente es un problema con el puerto 80 y el FortiClient, ya que si lo "bajo", la conexión a Internet es normal.
¿alguien tiene alguna idea de como solucionarlo?

Hola, fijate como tenes la severidad de la red, en el firewall del forticlient, y como tenes en aplicacion el navegador internet explorer.

Me fijé en el firewall de windows xp y el forticlient Proxy y forticlient vpn están puestos dentro de las excepciones.
Incluso si deshabilito el firewall de windows sigo con el mismo problema.
Con Firefox hace como que se conecta y me dice "terminado" pero me muestra la pantalla en blanco, sin página.

Hola, entonces fijate en firewall -> network... que no tengas la ip de tu red como public, o con algun bloqueo.

A mi me ha pasado lo mismo, y sólo he instalado la parte de VPN, por lo que el firewall no puede influir. El problema me lo da en los pcs que tienen antivirus (Panda en 1 y Kaspersky en otro). Lo puse en otro sin antivirus y no me daba ese problema (este era win 2003 SP2, los otros win XP SP3).
Por lo que he visto, aunque sólo elijo instalar la parte de VPN me instala un proceso llamado Fortiproxy, que temo es que da el problema, e interfiere con los filtros web y mail de los antivirus. En una página de Fortigate he visto cómo deshabilitarlo. Después de hacerlo me funciona. He tenido que hacerlo arrancando en modo seguro (F8 al arrancar), ya que sino no me dejaba cambiar la clave del registro.
Estas son las instrucciones:

As an alternative, you can modify the FortiClient installation to work with a third-party
firewall. This works only if all of the following are true:
You do not use FortiClient Web Filtering.
You do not use FortiClient email Antivirus scanning.
Your FortiClient PC does not connect to a FortiGate unit that checks for a
FortiClient installation before permitting access.
If the above conditions apply, you can change the registry key value for
HK_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Fortinet\FortiClient\FA_FORTIPROXY\enabled
from 1 to 0. You can modify this registry value in the MSI install package before
installation. Or after installation, you can edit the registry key value using regedit. The
VPN, AntiSpam, and Realtime AV protection features will then work normally with the
third-party firewall.
